Chunilal Kalidas Madiya (Nicknames: Akho Rupero, Kulendhu, Vakragati, Virānchī) was a Gujarati novelist, short story writer, playwright, critic, and poet. He was born in Dhoraji, Rajkot. In 1946, he started working for 'Janmabhoomi' in Mumbai, and in 1950, he joined the Gujarati department of 'USSR' in Mumbai. In 1955, he traveled to America. In 1962, he retired from 'USSR'. From 1966 onwards, he published the literary magazine 'Ruchi'. In 1957, he was awarded the Ranjitram Suvarnachandra Medal and the Narmad Suvarna Chandrak.

Born in Dhoraji, Rajkot, he made significant contributions to Gujarati literature as a novelist, short story writer, playwright, critic, and poet. Madiya's literary journey took him to the United States in 1955, and upon his return, he retired from 'USSR' in 1962. From 1966 onwards, he dedicated himself to the publication of the literary magazine 'Ruchi'. In recognition of his literary achievements, Chunilal Kalidas Madiya was awarded the prestigious Ranjitram Suvarnachandra Medal and the Narmad Suvarna Chandrak in 1957.
